    Former Port Maria Mayor Walter Brady Passes Away at 88

    Kingston, Jamaica – Walter Brady, former Mayor of Port Maria and outstanding determine in St. Mary, has died on the age of 88. The announcement was made on Friday by Robert Montague, Chairman of the Jamaica Labour Celebration (JLP), of which Brady was a long-standing member.

    “We ask to your prayers and consideration throughout this troublesome time for members of Mr. Brady’s household,” Montague acknowledged, expressing condolences on behalf of the JLP.

    Brady’s intensive public service included serving because the councillor for the Hampstead division and Chairman of the St. Mary Parish Council from 1981 to 1982. He additionally contested the Central St. Mary seat for the JLP within the 1980 normal elections.

    Previous to his political profession, Brady held varied professions, together with instructor, salesman, and life underwriter. He later transitioned into agriculture, changing into a profitable farmer and a number one producer of bananas and winter greens in St. Mary. He was a graduate of the Jamaica College of Agriculture.

    Robert Montague, Member of Parliament for St. Mary Western, highlighted Brady’s important contributions to the parish’s agricultural sector.

    Walter Brady is survived by his spouse of 63 years, Norma, and their three kids: Michelle, Michael, and Dwight. Funeral preparations will likely be introduced at a later date.
