    2 men held accused of impersonating police; firearm also seized – Jamaica Inquirer

    Two males have been arrested for impersonating cops and possessing a prohibited weapon on Barbican Street, St Andrew, on Monday, March 3.

    Stories are that at about 4:15 pm, members of the Visitors Enforcement Division of the Public Security and Visitors Enforcement Department (PSTEB) noticed a Toyota Axio driving erratically and displaying a blue flashing gentle.

    Suspicions had been raised when a test of the car’s registration by way of the Visitors Ticket Administration System revealed it was not registered to the Commissioner of Police.

    The PSTEB officers signaled the motive force of the car to cease.

    Upon stopping, one man exited the car wearing apparel resembling a police uniform, together with a Jamaica Constabulary Drive baseball hat, a black long-sleeve shirt, and a much less deadly belt with a JCF RCB baton.

    He additionally carried a handcuff pouch and had a bulge at his waist.

    When questioned, the person claimed to be a police officer working within the Spanish City space.

     Nonetheless, he failed to offer any identification. A subsequent search revealed an imitation pistol hid in his waistband.

    Additional investigation led to the search of the car and its different occupant. Each people had been arrested on cheap suspicion.

    Their identities are being withheld pending additional investigations.
