    Agriculture Ministry to boost egg consumption to 2 per week nationally – Jamaica Inquirer

    Efforts are being made by the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Mining to ramp up egg consumption to a mean of two to 3 per week per shopper over the subsequent three years.

    The disclosure was made by State Minister within the ministry, Franklin Witter, whereas addressing the twenty third annual normal assembly of Jamaica Egg Farmers’ Affiliation, which was held on the Almond Tree Restaurant in Ocho Rios, St Ann on Wednesday.

    Witter shared that the common Jamaican shopper solely consumes one-and-a-half eggs per week, which is up from one in earlier years.

    He stated native egg manufacturing has moved from 174 million eggs in 2015, to 255 million in 2023, a 46 per cent improve in manufacturing over the interval.
