    Police Investigate Shooting of Mentally Ill Man at Spanish Town Hospital

    St. Catherine, Jamaica — The St. Catherine North Police are investigating the taking pictures of a mentally sick man by a safety guard on the Spanish City Hospital on Monday evening.

    In accordance with stories, the incident occurred round 10:30 p.m. when the 2 males had been on the well being facility. The mentally sick man, aged 54, allegedly attacked the safety guard, prompting the guard to take evasive motion.

    In the course of the encounter, the guard discharged his firearm, injuring the person.

    The injured man was handled on the hospital and stays underneath medical care. His situation has not been disclosed.

    Authorities haven’t but supplied additional particulars in regards to the circumstances surrounding the incident. Investigations are ongoing as police work to find out whether or not the guard’s actions had been justified underneath the circumstances.
