    94% of JPS customers now have electricity following hurricane Melissa

    Ninety-four p.c of Jamaica Public Service (JPS) clients now have electrical energy. 

    Roughly 6% of consumers stay with out energy, down from 77% firstly of restoration, following the passage of hurricane Melissa final October.

    This was disclosed by President and CEO of JPS Hugh Grant. 

    Talking in Westmoreland yesterday, Mr. Grant underscored that restorations have been made doable, not solely by JPS, however by way of partnership with key stakeholders. 

    He famous that fewer than 38,000 clients stay with out electrical energy. 

    On October 28, the Class 5 system made landfall in Westmoreland, disrupting energy throughout the parish. 

    Nonetheless, Mr. Grant said that Westmoreland now has greater than 60% of its energy provide restored.
