    $8.9-Million Apartment Scam! Kingston Woman Charged in Massive Fraud Case

    KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 59-year-old advertising and marketing guide is now dealing with severe fraud prices after allegedly swindling almost $9 million from a person in a bogus house deal.

    The accused, Michelle Burrell, of Fairway Avenue, Kingston 5, has been charged with fraudulent conversion in reference to a collection of shady transactions that passed off between January and Might 2024.

    In line with police reviews, a person handed over $8.9 million to Burrell as a deposit for an house in Kingston. However after sealing the deal, the person claimed he was unable to contact her, regardless of quite a few makes an attempt.

    With pink flags waving, the matter was swiftly reported to the authorities, and an investigation was launched.

    On Wednesday, July 23, investigators made a serious breakthrough and arrested Burrell. She was formally charged on Saturday, August 2 following an interview carried out within the presence of her legal professional.

    Burrell is scheduled to seem earlier than the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court docket on Friday, August 8.
