    287 New Constables to Strengthen JCF’s Operations – Jamaica Information Service

    A complete of 287 new constables might be deployed shortly to strengthen the operations of the Jamaica Constabulary Drive (JCF).

    The brand new constables, representing Batches 161 and 162, have been offered throughout a passing out parade and awards ceremony held on the Nationwide Police Faculty of Jamaica (NPCJ) in Twickenham Park, St. Catherine, on Wednesday (January 21).

    In his deal with on the ceremony, Prime Minister, Dr. the Most Hon. Andrew Holness, reminded the newly minted constables that they now function ambassadors of regulation, order, and public belief.

    “You’ve gotten chosen a path that calls for braveness, self-discipline, integrity, and repair above self. It’s a noble dedication, and Jamaica thanks you. Your commencement comes at a pivotal second. It’s no secret that Jamaica has had its safety challenges… violence, organised prison networks, cybercrime, and basic public dysfunction… now compounded by the calls for of post-disaster restoration,” he famous.

    Prime Minister Holness emphasised, nevertheless, that “we aren’t the Jamaica of outdated”.

    “That isn’t simply because we’ve achieved such a sustained and important discount in violence over current years… . It’s as a result of we’ve invested closely in you, the members of the JCF,” he mentioned.

    Dr. Holness famous that the group represented the second cohort skilled below the brand new competency‑based mostly curriculum, describing it as “a serious reform that shifts policing from a largely technical craft to a totally professionalised self-discipline”.

    He added that the curriculum is scholar‑centred and designed across the competencies required of officers in a contemporary democracy.

    ACP Watson added that these ideas are integral to shaping their future and securing the nation.

    Valedictorians, Constables Julia Khani and Bryce Homosexual. pledged to serve with satisfaction, integrity, and unwavering dedication.
