    2 accused of murder in Lakewood shooting take plea deals

    Two individuals charged within the January taking pictures loss of life of a Lakewood lady took offers and pleaded responsible on Monday, in accordance with courtroom data.

    Manelson Leonel Ramirez, 27, pleaded responsible Monday to second-degree homicide in a deal that dismissed three felony costs from his case: first-degree homicide, tampering with proof and witness/sufferer intimidation, courtroom data present. The deal additionally dropped two violent crime sentence enhancers.

    Flor Maria Contreras-Mujica, 26, pleaded responsible to second-degree assault and criminally negligent murder, each felonies, in accordance with courtroom data.

    That deal dropped costs of first-degree homicide, witness/sufferer intimidation, tampering with bodily proof and third-degree assault from her case. It additionally dismissed two violent crime sentence enhancers

    Lakewood law enforcement officials responded to the  shooting in the 1400 block of Kendall Street at about 8:30 p.m. on Jan. 14. After they arrived, officers discovered 26-year-old Nairelis “Junior” Castel affected by a gunshot wound.

    Paramedics took Castel to the hospital, the place she later died from her accidents, police mentioned.

    Police mentioned the three all knew one another earlier than the taking pictures.

    Ramirez fled the state after the taking pictures and was arrested in Texas later that month.

    He and Contreras-Mujica are each scheduled to be sentenced on Dec. 4, in accordance with courtroom data.
