    1,500 Pounds of Ganja Burned in Police Operation

    St Elizabeth, Jamaica — Greater than 1,500 kilos of ganja have been seized and destroyed by police throughout a focused anti-narcotics operation on Thursday within the Northampton district.

    Officers from the Firearms and Narcotics Investigation Division (FNID) carried out the operation between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m., uncovering the massive amount of ganja that had been minimize and left to dry in a area.

    Police say the illicit substance was instantly destroyed on web site. No arrests have been made in reference to the seizure.

    Authorities confirmed that investigations are ongoing as they work to establish these liable for the cultivation and storage of the ganja.

    The operation types a part of a broader push by regulation enforcement to disrupt the unlawful drug commerce throughout the island.
