    100 million dollar recovery programme implemented by Banana Board and RADA to revive the banana and plantain sector

    A 100 million greenback restoration programme is being carried out by The Banana Board and the Rural Agricultural Growth Authority (RADA), to revive the banana and plantain sector, after hurricane Melissa triggered extreme harm to manufacturing.

    Agriculture Minister, Floyd Inexperienced confirmed that there’s a extreme scarcity of bananas and plantains regionally. 

    He mentioned the initiative is designed to revive manufacturing rapidly and make sure the resilience of the sector.

    Mr. Inexperienced famous that the programme is aimed toward supporting at the least 5000 farmers throughout the island and rehabilitating greater than 2500 hectares of farmland broken by the hurricane.
